Metiri Visits the White House

Metiri Group was honored to attend last week’s event at the White House announcing the 2016 National Education Technology Plan and celebrating the one year anniversary of the Future Ready Initiative. Metiri Group has been a key player in Future Ready from the beginning, collaborating with key stakeholders to create the Future Ready Framework and develop the Future Ready Interactive Planning Dashboard. Since its launch, the Dashboard has been used by superintendents and districts nationwide to assess their digital readiness and provide data to inform the selection of strategies to facilitate future planning. Metiri Group looks forward to continuing to work with the Alliance for Excellent Education as districts implement their plans and strive to be Future Ready.

The release of the 2016 National Education Technology Plan is yet another important step in helping districts to be ready for digital learning. Unlike previous National Plans that were updated every five years, the 2016 plan moves into the 21st Century by becoming a living document, purposefully designed to be updated over time as technologies, expectations, and language changes. Metiri is pleased that our work, both past and current, aligns perfectly with the plan’s focus on equity and accessibility, rigorous research, authentic learning, and non-cognitive competencies, as well as providing high-quality training and professional development for educators to build the necessary skills to effectively use technology to enhance instruction.

At Metiri, we will continue to focus on building the capacity of educators to provide personalized, digitally-enhanced learning experiences for students. We are looking forward to continuing to collaborate with the Alliance for Excellent Education, its partners, and educators nationwide, as we work toward the goal of “everywhere, all-the-time learning.”
